Lely Resort is a premiere master-planned golfing community in Naples, FL. It was named after Cornelius van der Lely, a Dutch inventor. He bought around 25,000 acres of undeveloped land in 1972 to develop a community with more than 10,500 homes. There are currently more than 4,000 homes in Lely Resort and upon completion the community is expected to contain approximately 4,506 residences. There are over 40 individual neighborhoods in this community that consist of anywhere between a few dozen to over 100 homes each. Stock Development purchased Lely Resort in 2001 and has since introduced an exciting lineup of housing options spread throughout several neighborhoods. Homebuyers can select new construction homes from various builders or opt for one of the many resale homes on the real estate market.

Lely Resort has pleanty of amenities and activies to choose from which are mostly centered around each community's clubhouses and golf courses. Homeowners can take advantage of the various membership options offered for golf, social and fitness programs.

Amenities

At the center of this community is the Players Club & Spa. This extravagant nine-acre retreat exhibits 20,000 sq. ft. of amenities which includes the club room, full service spa, arts and crafts studio, multi-purpose room, billiards, and business centers. The Players Club & Spa also includes a state-of-the-art fitness center that has up-to-date cardiovascular and weight-training equipment with a staff of personal trainers. An aerobics and dance studio offers classes in group cycling, pilates, yoga and strength conditioning. The spa specializes in body and facial treatments, massage therapies and natural beauty products where you can pamper yourself with a manicure, pedicure or a poolside massage.

Lely Resort also offers a second amenity complex called the Village Center in the Ole neighborhood that is available only to Ole residents. The Village Center is a Mediterranean-themed town center where Ole residents can come together and relax, mingle and play. The Village Center is reminiscent of a small village and it features it's own clubhouse with a tranquil resort-style outdoor pool. The Bistro offers fine dining and the Ole Pub has a hearth style pizza and Friday night happy hours. Some residents can also enjoy a cup of coffee while browsing at the Internet cafe or chill at the Village Center ice cream parlor. Residents of the Ole neighborhood at Lely are automatically members of the Village Center and can also join The Players Club & Spa and the Lely Country Club for additional fees.

The Classics Country Club at Lely Resort offers three golf courses. The Classics by Gary Player is a private par-72 course that features gentle contours and requires careful planning that rewards well-placed shots. A membership is required to play at The Classics golf course. The Flamingo course offers plenty of water challenges and sculpted fairways, lots of bunkering and tricky putting surfaces. It is visually very pleasing, the lakes and preserve areas make the most of Florida's natural beauty. The third course, The Mustang course is 7,217 yards and offers wider fairways. Twelve lakes offer beautiful settings. Golf Digest rated it 4.5 stars (out of 5) and rated the Flamingo course 4 stars. The Flamingo clubhouse is the starting point for both courses, offering a restaurant and lounge, pro shop and locker rooms. There is a practice range and short game and putting areas. Homes

There is a wide variety of residential choices available in Lely Resort. Condominium resale units start in the high $100s and go all the way up to the low $700s. Choices range from 2 bedroom, 2 baths condos with around 1,000 Sq. Ft to condo residences with almost 3,000 Sq. Ft living area.

New construction properties are still available in Cordoba, Lakoya, Tasori and at the Signature Club, the two last condo neighborhoods.

Lakoya is the last area to offer new construction single family homes, ranging from about 1,700 Sq.Ft to custom estate homes with over 4,000 Sq.Ft living area.

There are attached villas in several neighborhoods, the newest ones offer living areas of 1,700 to 2,200 Sq.Ft in the Moorgate Pointe subdivision and in Lakoya's Opal neighborhoood. Single family homes range from about 1,700 SF to custom estate homes with several thousand SF living area and anything in between. Prices are from the mid $400s to about $2Ms.
